DAO – or Decentralized Autonomous Organizations are organizations that are formed with a common goal and a single purpose that is run autonomously by code and managed by the community.

Governance Tokens – the type of tokens that holds a voting power in a DAO.

Hard Fork – A radical change in a blockchain’s software code that lets the new network follow a new set of rules and will not be backward-compatible with earlier blocks, splitting the network into two.

Improvement Proposal – A set of rules and policy changes that are proposed to change the code or parts of the code running the DAO protocol and/or the blockchain.

Soft Fork – A software upgrade for the blockchain’s code that introduce new set of rules and standards and are backward-compatible with earlier blocks.

Sybil Attack – a security threat where multiple forged or fake identities are used in the network to attack networks like controlling the majority of computing power of a network, or overriding the real votes in a voting system.

Utility Tokens – tokens that are used solely for a utility within a blockchain or a project.
